When you think of a person traveling, we tend to focus on the destination only. We forget we have to actually travel or stay somewhere. The latter is what I want to discuss. I recently traveled to Tulum, Mexico with my wife for her undisclosed birthday celebration. Due to the severity of this important date, I knew I had to go all out for her! I immediately contacted my travel agent and put him to work a year out. After reading this blog and seeing the beautiful pictures and videos, I don’t mind giving you his information. Just tell him Preston sent you! Now back to the meat and potatoes of the blog. I must have looked at seven hotel resorts in the Tulum before landing at TRS Yucatan Hotel. The hotel is located in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, about 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen.
One big reason why I chose this five-star hotel was that it is one of the few adults-only hotels with all-around sophistication and luxury. You are seconds from breathtaking sea views, private beach clubs, and a two-tiered infinite pool. You almost forget you are in a heavily populated area in Mexico because once you enter the compound, privacy is the number one priority of the hotel. The staff does a great job of making sure you are taken care of from the time you arrive till the time you leave. All services feel personalized to your needs.
Before I talk about the room I booked, I need to talk about some of the amenities of the resort. These are just a few:
24-hour butler service
Water activities (snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle surfing)
Infinity pool w/ Balinese bed
Three private pools
Spa & Wellness Center
Six a la carte restaurants and six fully stocked bars
The list really can go on forever! Now that I have talked about some of the amenities, allow me to get to the main event. The magnificent suite I booked for a week! Since I love to be fancy sometimes, I went with the Suite Private Pool Poolside room. The room includes:
Private pool
Separate living room
Terrace
Minibar
Wall USB charger
Butler Service
I took the liberty of vlogging our walkthrough of the room on my Travels of Preston’s episode on YouTube named Visiting Chichén Itzá Tulum, Mexico Vlog. You can click the YouTube link at the top of the page or click the link below to go directly to this blog reference. The room itself is 120 m2 or 1291 square feet and I promise you and your significant other will not be cramped. In the living room area, you have a large sectional couch with a flat-screen TV to watch, and attached to this area is the terrace with patio furniture. As you make your way through the suite the next section is the open bathroom with a closet. I like to call this part of the room, the hall of mirrors because you can see your reflection everywhere in this part. You can see right through the main mirror into the bedroom which gives you a nice view of the bedroom. The bedroom has a very comfortable king-size bed made with plush pillows. In this room, you can also watch TV with your partner. This is where I get excited because the room has a walkout patio deck with a full patio table with 4 chairs for company. Also, there is a day bed to lay out in the sun and work on that tan. You can walk right into your private pool and enjoy the day with your mate or friends. The pool has built-in hydro-massage jets for those long days of walking the white sandy beaches of Tulum.
I included a direct link to the TRS Yucatan website so you can book your next trip and you can thank me later! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel. Also, if you haven’t done so yet, follow me on Instagram for other travel tips and photos.
